Walkthrough

1. 1Follow Stefan Lanford to the throne room chamber
2. 2Encounter Cassius Morten — first shield-wielding boss opponent
3. 3Equip Tauria Curved Sword and stock healing items (50+ Grilled Meat ideal)
4. 4Begin combat — Cassius uses shield block and long attack chains
5. 5Spam heavy attacks (R2/RT) to damage through shield blocks
6. 6After three heavy hits, boss interrupts — follow with light attacks for combo
7. 7Use Blinding Flash (L1+R1) then Blinding Flash Finisher (R2) to stun and burst
8. 8Lure Cassius toward standing pillars to break them with his attacks
9. 9Use Nature's Grasp (Triangle+Circle) to grab broken pillars and slam into boss
10. 10Repeat heavy attacks and environmental damage until Cassius is defeated
11. 11Cutscene plays — Shield of Betrayal awarded, quest completes

Tips

• Cassius is first boss using shield mechanic — heavy attacks pierce defense
• Nature's Echo skill from Kliff's shop duplicates heavy attack effects for pressure
• Environment damage (pillars): massive blunt damage if you can slam them into boss
• Fire resistance food helpful — Cassius applies fire element during attacks
• Healing items critical — cook 50+ Grilled Meat at Hernand cooking stations pre-fight
• Be patient with dodge timing during his long attack chains before retaliating
• No armor disguise option during this fight — full combat engagement required
